On the morning of May 2nd, at the live news broadcast of China Media Group, two 300 – ton new – Chinese – style bridge cranes of Henan Weihua smoothly and precisely lifted the rotor of Unit 1 of the Tiantai Pumped – storage Power Station in Zhejiang along the pre – determined lifting route and lowered it into the No. 1 turbine pit, marking a milestone progress in the installation project of China’s first pumped – storage unit with a single – unit capacity of 425 megawatts.


The Tiantai Pumped – storage Power Station in Zhejiang is equipped with 4 reversible hydro – turbine generator units with a single – unit capacity of 425 megawatts, a rated power – generation head of 724 meters, and a total length of the water – conveyance system of 3652.9 meters. It is currently the pumped – storage power station in China with the highest head, largest single – unit capacity, deepest burial depth, and longest shaft system.


The rotor hoisted this time is one of the core components of the pumped – storage power station’s generator unit, with an overall lifting weight of 516 tons. In response to the requirements of safety, smoothness, and precision during the rotor hoisting process and the complex and special working conditions during the installation process, the two 300 – ton new – Chinese – style bridge cranes of Weihua adopted a tandem – lifting operation plan.
During the hoisting process, Weihua’s independently developed modular special turning lifting tool for the rotor, in combination with the unique shackle translation tooling, integrating leading technologies such as dual – machine linkage mechanism and gantry deviation correction, showed extremely high precision and stability, ensuring the safe and smooth hoisting of the rotor into place.

The smooth progress of this hoisting task further verifies Weihua’s technical strength and product reliability in the field of lifting equipment handling.
