To cultivate a high-caliber industrial workforce, continuously forge new growth drivers and competitive advantages, and propel the company’s high-quality development, Henan Weihua held the opening ceremony for its “Weihua Craftsman Training Program” on March 7.

Xie Baohua stated that the Weihua Craftsman Training Program will comprehensively enhance workers’ skills and technical proficiency through systematic, hands-on courses. It aims to foster technical exchange and innovation within the workforce, cultivating new-era craftsmen with a global perspective and a spirit of innovation. He expressed hope that all trainees would stay true to their original aspirations, hone their craftsmanship, and uphold the responsibility of Weihua employees to carry forward the artisan spirit. He encouraged them to bring fresh technical capabilities to their work, becoming powerful engines driving industrial transformation and innovation demonstration.

The Weihua Craftsman Training Program focuses on in-demand trades such as welding, painting, and CNC programming. It integrates internationally recognized standards, national specifications, and industry-specific technical requirements with Weihua’s production and market needs. The program features a faculty team comprising industry experts, master craftsmen, and senior technicians. Through intensive off-the-job training, the program comprehensively enhances the personal qualities, professional ethics, and specialized skills of Weihua craftsmen. Participants undergo a multi-dimensional assessment covering professional ethics, technical proficiency, and innovation capabilities, with recipients of the Weihua Craftsman title receiving tiered monetary incentives based on their achievement level.
On March 5, 2024, during the Second Session of the 14th National People’s Congress, General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized: “Master craftsmen are the cornerstone and pillars of our Chinese nation’s edifice.” He further stated: “We must earnestly strengthen vocational education, foster the spirit of craftsmanship, and cultivate batches of master craftsmen on the front lines.”“
In response to the national strategies of building a manufacturing powerhouse and a talent powerhouse, as well as Weihua’s ongoing need for high-quality development, the company established the Weihua Party School, Weihua College, and Weihua Vocational Training School. To date, industrial worker training has cumulatively exceeded 30,000 participants, with a large number of craftsmen emerging. The company has successively cultivated two national model workers—Wu Qingfu and Xia Weixin—along with numerous highly skilled talents, contributing Weihua’s strength to the comprehensive construction of a modern socialist country.
